A Message from our Principal

At SEDA College WA, we help our young people get the most out of life by walking side by side with them, every step of the way. We believe that happy and healthy people are high performing.

SEDA College WA places student interest at the forefront of their senior secondary education, alongside a practical connection to industry and an individual approach to teaching and learning. The College accesses leading industry partnerships including the Western Australian Cricket Association, Perth Scorchers, Netball WA, West Coast Fever, Basketball WA, Perth Lynx, Perth Wildcats, Perth Glory, Football West, Fremantle Dockers, West Coast Eagles, Tennis West, RugbyWA and the Western Force for our Sports Development Programs and BGC Construction, for our Construction and Trade Program.

What makes for an engaging education? For us, the key component is interest-based learning. Young people and their families choose our College because we connect with their interests and then get students outside of the classroom to learn directly from industry.

Our ‘one teacher, one classroom’ model also allows our teachers to take on a true mentoring approach, where they walk alongside and support the individual journey of our students as they complete their secondary education. Our teachers work with each student to develop their confidence as learners are specifically recruited for their capacity to build healthy and respectful relationships with students and develop skills for life.

The College delivers the Western Australian Certificate of Education (WACE) using an applied learning pedagogy where hands-on learning happens both inside and outside of the classroom. Through this applied learning model, students have a deeper connection to their education, resulting in enhanced engagement levels.

Students also undertake work and industry placements and community project work to develop their work readiness and community awareness.

Our vision is that students benefit from being exposed to a range of learning opportunities. Each student is supported to develop a career path that is specific to their aspirations and goals, and make direct links to the learning activities they undertake.
