Be bowled over by our Cricket Australia Sports Development Program

There’s no doubt we Aussies love our cricket. From using the red-top wheelie bin as a wicket in friendly neighbourhood clashes, to having a bowl down by the shore in a game of beach cricket, it’s a game that unites generations.
Many kids grow up wanting to be the next Ellyse Perry or Steve Smith, heading out to the crease to do their country proud. At SEDA, we’re thrilled to help students turn their love of cricket into lifelong opportunities through our Cricket Australia Sports Development Program.
What is the program?
The SEDA College Cricket Australia Sports Development Program allows students in Years 11 and 12 to study sport in school. This tailored cricket academy is delivered side-by-side with industry experts from the Perth Scorchers and WA Cricket, giving students hands-on learning opportunities all connected to their love of the game.
What qualifications does it offer?
A quality sport education program, the Cricket Australia curriculum is designed to connect students to skills, knowledge and experience that they can take far beyond the four walls of a classroom. The Year 11 and 12 qualifications include: WACE courses – General Level (Physical Education, English, and Career and Enterprise); Authority Developed Workplace Learning; and VET Qualification – SIS30113 Certificate III in Sport and Recreation.
Available study areas
There are a variety of study areas available for students in the Cricket Australia program. Just a handful of these include: Becoming the Coach – Exploring the roles and responsibilities of an entry-level coach; The Athlete – Gaining an understanding of what it takes to learn and perfect different skills; The Community Development Officer – Discovering how to turn a passion for coaching into a successful career; The Power of Sport – Taking the time to explore how sport can influence and shape the culture within a community. Game On – Developing skills through match practice, sports psychology, officiating, fixtures and resulting.
