FURTHER EDUCATION

Students who successfully complete their studies at SEDA College have a range of further education pathways available to them.

SEDA College WA currently offers eligible Year 12 students the opportunity to complete the Murdoch FlexiTrack High program alongside their current SEDA program. SEDA graduates who successful complete the Murdoch FlexiTrack High program can enter university in any undergraduate degree equivalent to an ATAR rank of 70. 

Our partnerships with other WA universities (ECU, Notre Dame and Curtin) also support SEDA graduates to obtain entry into their relevant enabling program. Upon completion of an enabling program, SEDA College WA graduates can commence any undergraduate degree equivalent to an ATAR rank of 70.

SEDA College WA graduates can continue further education by undertaking a Dual Diploma program with SEDA Group (RTO 22503). Each of SEDA’s Sport & Business Programs gives students the opportunity to study in a practical, hands-on learning environment, and gain real experience working alongside an elite Australian sporting organisation. 

Students have the opportunity to study curriculum linked to the sports industry, undertake practical placements, run major projects, and participate in high-performance activities, designed to further develop your skills and experience; all while learning from industry experts, coaches and elite athletes.

SEDA College WA students can choose from the Perth Wildcats Sport & Business Program or the Fremantle Dockers Sport, Business & Leadership Program

Through our partnerships with BGC, MEGT and AFL SportsReady, SEDA graduates are supported on their journey to obtain an apprenticeship or traineeship in the industry if their choice. Our graduates can complete vocational training whilst earning a wage and learning about the industry and job they are in. 

TAFE offers SEDA College WA graduates with qualifications from Certificate I to Advanced Diploma, apprenticeships, traineeships, short courses and skill sets in a wide variety of industries. Popular options include courses from the following industries:

Cale Provan – Digital Media and Marketing Coordinator, Fremantle Dockers Football Club

“The pathways and networking opportunities that SEDA College provided me during my time gave me the skills and knowledge to be able to start my journey in the AFL industry with the Fremantle Dockers.”

Lauren O’Connor – Registrar, SEDA College WA

During her time at SEDA, Lauren completed her work placement at Cooinda Primary School and the Fremantle Dockers in the Membership Department, which was an experience she felt was highly valuable and an advantage for her when entering the work force. After graduating in 2019, Lauren began working full time for SEDA WA as an Administration Assistant/Receptionist while completing her Certificate IV in Business with AFL Sports Ready. She loved her time at SEDA in this role and after working in the role of Admissions Officer, she worked her way up to leading the team as SEDA's Registrar! Lauren is looking forward to utilising her experience in the program to provide better outcomes for SEDA students.

Jaxon Liddelow – Development Officer, East Fremantle

Graduating from SEDA in 2015, Jaxon went on to complete a traineeship with AFL Sports Ready at the West Australian Football Commission. Having developed all the life ready skills at SEDA, he naturally transitioned into the Development Officer role. Jaxon now manages the little league competitions, diversity and inclusion programs, and works hard to grow the sport of AFL in the East Fremantle District. In the coming months, Jaxon will be moving to Albany to take on the role of Great Southern Regional Development Specialist. Jaxon felt that without SEDA, this opportunity would not have been possible.

Nikki Phillips – Teacher, SEDA College WA

Graduating from SEDA in 2011, Nikki went on to study a Bachelor of Health and Physical Education at Deakin University from 2012 - 2015. She received her first teaching appointment at Wesley College Melbourne, where she was given some fantastic opportunities to excel in a variety of environments. Upon making the decision to move to Perth, Nikki commenced her role as a SEDA teacher in the Netball WA in 2019. Nikki is passionate about the hands-on nature of the SEDA Program and the experiences provided to her students in order to help develop an individual pathway strongly suited to each person’s strengths and ambitions.

Kyle Donaldson – Personal Trainer, Snap Fitness

Through SEDA’s applied learning model, Kyle felt that SEDA program made him future ready and taught him the necessary skills to become a successful personal trainer. Upon graduating from the SEDA program, Kyle was employed by the West Australian Football Commission before realising his passion for the health and fitness industry. He went on to complete a Certificate III and IV in Fitness and is now a successful Personal Trainer at Snap Fitness. Kyle is looking forward to further developing his business, Premier Personal Training, and aspires to open a gym of his own.
