Posted August 12, 2024 in Connecting with Community

SEDA College’s Baldja Mob led an engaging Cultural Clinic, promoting Aboriginal culture and learning.

Recently, SEDA College’s Baldja Mob conducted an enriching Cultural Clinic at Emmaus Primary School, marking their first-ever initiative in running their own clinics. This groundbreaking event was a vibrant celebration of Aboriginal culture, featuring traditional games and Noongar language.

Students at Emmaus Primary were thrilled with the activities, which seamlessly blended fun and learning. The traditional games not only taught teamwork and cultural traditions but also offered a unique insight into Aboriginal heritage. Meanwhile, incorporating Noongar language into these games introduced students to basic words, sparking their curiosity and engagement. The enthusiasm was palpable as students eagerly participated, learning and laughing together.

The SEDA Baldja Mob’s high standard of delivery and leadership shone throughout the clinic. Their ability to connect effortlessly with the young learners made the cultural exchange both enjoyable and educational. Feedback from Emmaus Primary was overwhelmingly positive, with both students and teachers praising the Baldja Mob’s efforts. Teachers noted the effectiveness of the interactive approach, highlighting how it captivated students and made learning about Aboriginal culture accessible and exciting.

This clinic was a powerful testament to the importance of cultural exchange and education. SEDA College is immensely proud of our Baldja Mob for their dedication and skill in promoting Aboriginal culture. Their efforts have left a lasting impact, fostering a deeper appreciation and understanding of cultural diversity among the students. The success of this event has set a high standard for future initiatives.

Looking ahead, we eagerly anticipate more collaborations that celebrate and share our rich cultural heritage with the wider community. The Baldja Mob’s work not only enriches the students’ learning experiences but also strengthens the cultural fabric of our society. We are excited to continue this journey of cultural education and exchange, building bridges of understanding and respect through each interaction.
