SEDA College WA Staff Bring Comfort and Cheer to Families at Ronald McDonald House

Posted July 3, 2024 in Connecting with Community

For SEDA College WA’s Term 2 community initiative, several staff members visited the Ronald McDonald House in Nedlands to participate in their heartwarming program, Lovin’ from the Oven.

This initiative provides an opportunity to ‘bake a difference’ in the lives of families with an ill or injured child, offering a sense of home and comfort during challenging times.

The dedicated staff from SEDA College donated their time and baking talents to create a variety of delicious treats for the residents of Ronald McDonald House.

Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) is an incredible service that keeps families close to the medical care their children need.

The families supported by Ronald McDonald House WA often spend countless hours at the hospital, and the treats provided by initiatives like Lovin’ from the Oven help to brighten their exhausting days.

The initiative saw participation from members of the education team, as well as the business services and the student connect teams. Together, they provided an array of goodies that including banana brownies, ham and vegetable muffins and assorted sandwiches.

The muffins and brownies were baked from scratch, while the sandwiches were carefully assembled to provide a nutritious and comforting meal option.

SEDA also provided an assortment of fruit cups, museli bars and juice boxes for residents of the Ronald McDonald House to choose from.

“At SEDA College WA our vision is to change lives, and what better way to act this out than through volunteering our time at Ronald McDonald House,” said Vice Principal Silv Lombardi, who participated on the day.

“To make a small contribution to making someone’s day a little easier given their circumstance, by providing food, was a rewarding experience for our staff, and filled our cup for the day.”

SEDA College WA is proud to support the community through initiatives like Lovin’ from the Oven. Fostering community connections is a major pillar in SEDA College’s strategic plan, and the college remains committed to making a positive impact in the lives of those around them.
