How SEDA’s Sport Development Program is shaking up traditional learning
Posted April 01, 2024 in
When it comes to school, most of us share a similar view of how things usually operate. Students attend a range of different classrooms to learn their subjects (be it maths, science, English, history, you name it), with different students and teachers for every subject. Occasionally there are opportunities for excursions or hands-on learning to shake things up and take learning out of the classroom.
For many students, this method of education is ideal. For others, not so much. And that’s where our SEDA Sports Development Program comes in.
Unlike traditional schooling for Years 11 and 12 students, the SEDA Sports Development Program is designed to offer hands-on learning centred around a love of sport. Learning can take place on the courts, in the field, on the pitch, in the classroom and many other settings, supported by industry experts. Sport education was never filled with so many possibilities!
There are eight programs available:
- – Basketball WA Sports Development Program
- – Bunbury MultiSport Sports Development Program
- – Cricket Australia Sports Development Program
- – Fremantle Dockers Sports Development Program
- – Netball WA Sports Development Program
- – Perth Glory Sports Development Program
- – Tennis West Sports Development Program
- – West Coast Eagles Sports Development Program
Each netball academy, soccer academy, cricket academy, football academy and overall sports academy gives students the opportunity to get involved in experiences they won’t find anywhere else, while being engaged in their learning within a close-knit group.
What’s more, SEDA College offers a range of regular information nights, together with a 6-step enrolment process that helps take the stress out of helping students find their place.
The SEDA College Sports Development Program is available for students in Years 11 and 12. If you’d like to know more about the SEDA Difference, make sure to get in touch with our friendly team.
